coptic stitch binding
a traditional bookbinding stitch technique that requires no glue. this method allows books to lie completely flat while in use.
french link binding
elizabeth adapted the french link technique into her own version. this new twist on the technique allows her to use bulkier fabric scraps (such as upholstery) and quilted scrap fabric blocks as covers, which aligns with her sustainability mission. this method also allows for books to lie flat while open and in use.
papermaking
elizabeth’s papermaking technique is simple, and uses items anyone could make or acquire cheaply. she makes her own moulds and deckles for herself and for her classes, and uses scrap fabric for couching. all of her paper is made solely of recycled material.
